The Brompton was created with a strong concept in mind. It may be all too rare, but there is always something very, very special about a hotel that’s a truly traditional and absolutely genuine “local”. This is what we set out to create.
To begin with, and most importantly, we want to give our patrons a type of hotel they’ll always be happy to just drop into whenever the mood takes them. One that will always be friendly, relaxed and comfortable.
One that is full of intriguing background character and history. As well as one which offers the perfect match of inviting bar, dining and gaming facilities.

But in doing this we also wanted to create something uniquely and totally special with the hotel itself. Thus a decision to lovingly and meticulously renovate the old original 120 year old building. And to then sympathetically add to that a singularly dramatic and architecturally inspiring new area complete with its own stylish courtyard.
A development that really is all about bringing delightful-heritage and charismatic-modern together in the one highly welcoming home. In this home is our warm and friendly Brompton Bar , known for its history and our Brompton Gaming Room just neighbouring.
We are located in a unique setting and are very easy to find at First Street. All you need to do is simply remember "on First off Chief off Port" . Or if you’re heading in from the opposite direction "on First off Chief off Torrens".
First of all, and if you are driving, you can leave your car in our spacious, well lit, security monitored and landscaped parking area that you enter off First Street. Our main entrance – around the dramatically preserved old fireplace and chimney – is then a few steps away. Although it’s almost as close to take the old front door directly into our Gaming Room.And then it’s a very warm and hospitable welcome to your very new old local.
