The Brompton ...
The Courtyard
While the name Brompton may well have derived from the Old English “Bromtun … a village where Broome is grown”, our own local suburb has a far more industrial background.
Early in its history, deposits of high quality clay were found and inevitably it quickly developed as a centre for brick and bottle making industries. And hence the area being pinpricked with innumerable so called “pug holes” from which that clay was extracted.
The Brompton of today, of course, is fast becoming a very different and far more residential locale. And it is our hope that the design of our fabulous new facilities goes a long way towards representing this exciting new face of the area.
A face that is certainly well represented by the fabulous Brompton Courtyard.
"...both under cover and totally fresh air spots for the ultimate in casual drinking and dining relaxation."
This lazily sprawling and fully serviced area presents our guests with both undercover and totally fresh air spots for the ultimate in casual drinking and dining relaxation.
When the weather is just right, we know it’s delightful to be able sit outside and enjoy a drink and a meal. Indeed, even when there is a bite in the air, many prefer an al fresco setting provided there are great outdoor heaters to take the chill out of the all important social proceedings.
We’ve also catered for those patrons who find that a glass or two tastes all the better if they can also enjoy a cigarette. And so with the Courtyard, there is a great place to escape to when this year’s new indoor smoking laws are introduced.
And if you are worried about ‘missing the action’ don’t, because we’ve also given the Courtyard its own large screen TV and Foxtel.
